The process and outcome of successfully adapting to difficult or challenging life experiences, especially through mental, emotional, and behavioral flexibility and adjustment to external and internal demands.

4 Mental and Mindset Shifts That Made a Difference to This Day

Learning emotional regulation.
➡️ Giving room to my emotions to flow, without letting them swell or dictate my circumstances.

Slowing down the pace of my life while being more intentional of who/what/how I invest my time and energy.
➡️ It’s not because I can that I need to or that I will.

Releasing my desire to control outcomes and embrace that things will be what they will be.
➡️ Trust in God that I can navigate the unknown and that I can only do my best moment by moment. No more stretching towards elusive perfection.

Accepting that inconvenient situations are part of life.
➡️ When tension, discomfort or irritation come my way, I have to sit in it rather than trying to eradicate present and future causes.

In my case, rebuilding my resilience meant in the last few years strengthening and learning to nurture “my capacity to adapt and recover from adversity”.
